Discover Aude and its beaches.
The Aude department is in the south of France in the western part of the Languedoc-Roussillon region, and is naturally well-suited to tourism due to its mild dry climate, a huge variety of lanscapes (sea, mountains, woodlands, ravines and scrublands) as well as an exceptional cultural heritage. |

|
Situated in Cathar country, between Perpignan and Toulouse,
it boasts impressive fortresses built on rocky outcrops, steep ravines, fast-flowing
rivers in the upper Aude Valley and also fine sandy beaches.
GRUISSAN, an old fishing village, is dominated by the Tour Barberousse (Redbeard's
Tower), all that remains of the castle.
